WARANGAL: Congress Legislature Party leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka promised massive financial support to the poor and working class in the state when his party “formed government” after the next assembly polls later this year.

“Our government will sanction ₹5 lakhs each to all shelterless poor families. The price of gas cylinders will be reduced to ₹500 and we will sanction ₹12,000 under Coolie Bandhu to all the workers along with waiving all farm loans upto ₹2 lakh in one go. Two wheelers will be distributed to handloom workers and we will provide insurance to the toddy tappers,” he said at Kalvasrirampur mandal in Peddapalli district.

He was addressing a street-corner meeting on the 35th day of his ‘People’s March in the state.

He said a separate Telangana state was achieved by the people for leading a respectable life and ensuring water and jobs in their own state. But, their dreams soured in the nine years of the KCR-led TRS/BRS rule.

Bhatti said his padayatra was as per advice from the AICC to meet people and identify their problems. “All the people’s issues will be resolved as soon as the Congress party forms the government after the assembly elections,” he said.

He alleged that Peddapalli BRS party MLA Manohar Reddy ignored the development of the constituency and was exploiting the natural resources by indulging in illegal sand business. “He is also trying to suppress the voice of the opposition by lodging false cases against Congress party leaders for questioning his misdeeds,” Bhatti said.

Bhatti said, “Peddapalli has a mighty Kaleshwaram project, but the people are not getting water either for their drinking needs or for irrigation purposes. Godavari is flowing through this region but people are not getting water even for a single acre of land.”

“The wells dug and the check dams constructed during the Congress governments’ time are still strong. But the five check dams constructed during the BRS government’s term were washed away in the recent floods. Such works are sanctioned by the present government for the sake of ‘taking commissions’, with the result the check dams are constructed with cheap quality materials,” he alleged.

Peddapalli DCC president and Ramagundam assembly segment in-charge Makkan Singh, former MLA Vijaya Ramana, Bhupalpally DCC president Prakash, Anvesh Reddy, Ganga Ramulu, Prakash Rao, Lanka Saidaiah, Akbar Ali, Satish, Md Muneedh, Ramesh, Mahesh and Srinivas were present.
