D Srinivas may return to Congress
They passed a resolution stating that they would follow the footsteps of Mr Srinivas if he takes a political decision.
NIZAMABAD: The social media and political circles are witnessing an intense debate on the political future of TRS Rajya Sabha member D. Srinivas, a former state Congress president. They feel he may switch his loyalties back to the Congress. The speculation has intensified after a meeting conducted by Mr Srinivas last week with his followers in Nizamabad.
Activists and second rung leaders, mostly Mr Srinivas’ followers from Nizamabad Rural and Urban Assembly constituencies, have complained of “lack of respect” in the party. The importance was not being given to the seniors, an activist said. They passed a resolution stating that they would follow the footsteps of Mr Srinivas if he takes a political decision.
Mr Srinivas himself ruled out the possibility of his changing parties. He said he would continue with the TRS and take to the notice of party president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao the dissatisfaction among the party cadre.
While interacting with newsmen, Nizamabad MP K. Kavitha said the TRS was giving the utmost importance to Mr Srinivas. “The Congress dishonoured Mr Srinivas by refusing him an MLC seat but the TRS sent him to the Rajya Sabha with due respect” Ms Kavitha said. She said any differences of opinion would be resolved soon.
