Bengaluru: Chief Minister, H.D. Kumaraswamy and his deputy Dr G. Parameshwar besides KPCC president Dinesh Gundurao have rubbished the exit poll predictions on a BJP victory  and exuded confidence that the coalition partners would get more that 20 seats in the state.

In a series of tweets, Mr Kumaraswamy lampooned the exit polls and described them as polls predictions ‘tutored’ by the BJP national president. Mr Kumaraswamy also reiterated his doubt over the credibility of EVMs. He had mentioned that the opposition parties had even knocked the doors of the Supreme Court to replace EVMs with the traditional ballot paper system.

In the next tweet, he spoke about EVMs. "Exit polls are being used to create an impression that there is still a Modi wave in the country. This artificially engineered or manufactured Modi wave is being used by the BJP to lure regional parties well in advance to fill any shortfall after the results of May 23." He further said, "The entire exit poll exercise was an effort to create a false impression of a wave in favour of one particular leader and party. As they say, it is just an exit poll and not an exact poll."

Deputy Chief Minister Dr Parameshwar said that all the exit polls looked like surveys conducted on behalf of BJP. "Whatever the exit polls say, the BJP may lose the elections. The BJP got these polls doctored and claimed that it would get 300-400 seats. But I feel the Congress led UPA will come back to power. Can we believe the exit polls which say the BJP will win 18 or more seats in Karnataka? We have been raising concerns about the vulnerability of EVMs of being hacked, but nothing has been done so far," he said.
