Hyderabad: TPCC campaign committee chairperson Vijayashanthi has alleged that the exit polls conducted by the national media on the Lok Sabha elections were only to satisfy Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In a statement, she said that the exit polls predicted that the BJP was going to win more seats than in 2014 when the “so-called” Modi wave was there.
Vijayashanthi asked if there was a favourable atmosphere for the BJP, why had the majority in Uttar Pradesh reduced from the 2014 figure.

She said that this clearly showed that the people of Uttar Pradesh were against the BJP.

She also asked that when the Prime Minister was not able to satisfy the people of Uttar Pradesh, how was he able to presume that  the people of the country were in his favour.

Meanwhile, AICC secretary and former MP V. Hanumantha Rao said that exit polls had proved to be wrong many times.

Speaking to the media on Monday, he said that the Congress was going to win three Lok Sabha seats in Telangana state.

Mr Hanumantha Rao also demanded that the TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao visit Hajipur and console the victims’ family members.
