HYDERABAD: Repeated pleas by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to have confidence in him and go with the BRS will not cut the ice with the public with leaders this time, said CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.

Addressing a press conference in Kethepally town from Nakrekal assembly constituency he asked, “By promising afresh to complete the Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation project in four months, the Chief Minister is trying to take the people for a ride. The Chief Minister had promised to finish the project in 30 months seven years back. How will he complete it in four months now?” he asked, adding that the Election Commission will release the poll notification in two months.

Finding fault with the Chief Minister for trying to apportion the blame for the delay in projects to the filing of court cases, he said, “If you rule as per the Constitution courts will not find fault with you. The Chief Minister should follow the 2013 Land Acquisition Act and pay compensation to farmers. Is it not high-handedness to use the police to vacate villages and grab their lands? The Dharani website brought out by the government will prove to be its undoing.”.

He also targeted Legislative Council Gutta Sukhender Reddy and Minister G. Jagadish Reddy. “They have done nothing to complete the pending SLBC tunnel, Nakkalagandi, Dindi and Brahmana Vellamla projects in the last 10 years,” he said.

The meeting was attended by Bhadrachalam MLA Podem Veeraiah, and former MLA Vedas Venkaiah among others.
