DMK not opposed to any religion: MK Stalin

The DMK had no animosity to any religion, the party president M K Stalin said on Monday, adding that the party would not interfere in people’s faith or lifestyle.

In a letter to his cadre, Stalin said that the party had a history in fighting for those marginalized, oppressed and suppressed by standing with them and taking up their causes democratically.

Whenever the party was in power, it formulated laws to enable people regain their rights, he said.

He said people of all religions were members of the DMK, putting behind their religious affiliations and caste biases. The party would protect everyone’s rights and raise its voice of all, he said, adding the party’s journey had been its uncompromising struggle against dominant forces and fight for the oppressed.
