Hyderabad: AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh on Tuesday alleged that TS Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was good at planning corruption, but not welfare schemes for the poor.

Mr Singh said that the TRS government failed to introduce any scheme for the development at village, mandal or district-levels but the CM came up with Water Grid so that avenues for corruption of thousands of crores were opened.

“The project costs were escalated to receive huge kickbacks. What happened to Intensive Household Survey which the state government conducted immediately after coming to power?” he asked.

Mr Singh was addressing the concluding session of two-day training programme for Congress Sarpanchs and UpaSarpanchs at KJR Gardens in Secunderabad on Tuesday.

Praising the Congress sarpanchs for staying with the party, he accused the CM of luring and intimidating elected representatives of the Opposition to join the ruling party.

“KCR family is buying MLAs and other elected representatives like vegetables. This is an insult to all elected representatives. KCR is accumulating huge illegal wealth with a plan to buy votes in next elections. He must realise the voters of Telangana are not for sale,” Mr Singh said.

He also slammed the TRS government for not fulfilling promises like providing three acres of land to each Dalit family and 2BHK houses for the poor.

“KCR is busy feeding his own family. He and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are spreading falsehood against previous Congress government,” he said.
