S Ramadoss sees Centre's conspiracy to wind up Keezhadi excavation
Ramadoss said efforts are being made to take research samples in such a way that the civilisation could be placed in an earlier era.
Chennai: Alleging a conspiracy by the BJP to stall the excavations at Keezhadi, PMK founder S. Ramadoss on Wednesday said Sriraman who was placed in charge of the project in place of Amarnath Ramakrishnan had deliberately worked to close down the research as per the directions of the BJP government at the centre.
Amarnath Ramakrishnan should be brought back and the exaction works should continue under his guidance, Ramadoss said and added that the area should be increased to 110 acres.
Instead of extending the excavation to the south, Sriraman deliberately had moved it in the opposite direction with the malafide intention of finding excuses to wind up the research work.
Ramadoss said efforts are being made to take research samples in such a way that the civilisation could be placed in an earlier era and to deny that Tamil civilisation is the oldest in India. A full excavation would bring to light that
Tamils had an urban civilisation with the setting up of industries several thousand years ago.
