Many died due to Congress flip-flops on Telangana: Arvind

Hyderabad: Nizamabad MP D. Arvind alleged that hundreds of young lives were lost due to the Congress's initial announcement and subsequent withdrawal of the formation of Telangana state in 2009. He criticised the ruling BRS for failing to provide basic amenities and jobs for Telangana's youth over nine years.

Arvind also pointed out that the BJP successfully created three states — Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, and Jharkhand — without any loss of life and questioned why the BRS government couldn't generate employment for Telangana's youth.

In the case of Telangana state's formation, the Congress played a dual role by announcing the creation of Telangana state on December 9, 2009, only to withdraw the statement within 15 days due to pressure from Andhra MPs. Subsequently, the failure of the Congress stance led to a peak in the movement, resulting in the sacrifice of many young lives. Interestingly, no one from the family of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao made such sacrifices.

He mentioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's youth-focused schemes and the lack of scholarships for Telangana students, while alleging that the Chief Minister's family had amassed illegal wealth.

Arvind accused minister K.T. Rama Rao of politicising issues by criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
