Congress vows to lay siege to KCR residence
Mr Rao was sending out the message that he was above the law.
Hyderabad: The Congress on Sunday warned that it would besiege Praga-thi Bhavan on Mond-ay if Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao failed to resolve the RTC strike.
TPCC working president, A. Revanth Reddy, Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, AICC member Daya Sagar and a few other senior leaders met at the residence of former minister, Mohammed Ali Sha-bbir, in Jubilee Hills and decided to lay siege to Pragathi Bhavan.
Speaking to mediapersons, Mr Shabbir Ali said that the Congress had set October 19 as the deadline for the Chief Minister to resolve the RTC crisis but he appeared to be in no mood to change his adamant attitude.
He criticised the Chief Minister for openly disobeying the orders of the High Court which had asked the government to initiate talks with the employees. Mr Rao was sending out the message that he was above the law.
He said Mr Rao was neither concerned about the inconvenience being caused to the public nor bothered about the problems of RTC employees. He just wanted to satisfy his ego and expected everyone to act like his slaves, Mr Ali alleged.
The Congress would continue to support the RTC employees till their demands are accepted, he added.
