The Deputy Chief Minister presented White Paper on power supply in Telangana
Hyderabad: The new Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and his team are completely into action mode.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka expressed concern that the condition of power supply in Telangana was creating anxiety. On Thursday, he placed the White Paper on the steps taken for uninterrupted power supply in separate Telangana.
He said that they were releasing the White Paper only to keep the public and officials informed about the existing power condition.
Stating that power supply was vital for industrial development and uplift of the farming sector, he said it was equally important for the functioning of the transport, information sectors too.
Power supply indicates the quality of people's life standard, he said.
The deputy CM mentioned about the various measures taken up in the sector during the last nine-and-a-half years.
He also informed that the power generating Genco, power supplying Transco, north and south power distribution organisation (discom) has loans of Rs 81,000 crore and losses to the tune of Rs 50,000 crore.
Later, the issue was taken up for discussion in the Assembly.
