Hyderabad: From Wednesday, YSR Congress president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's Hyderabad residence Lotus Pond, which has been the scene of much political activity in the past six years, will be locked. A day ahead of the AP Assembly election results, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy is shifting his political base to Amaravati.

His wife Bharathi and youngest daughter Harsha Reddy will accompany him to his new residence at Tadepally near the Andhra Pradesh’s upcoming  capital city Amaravati on Wednesday morning.

All the offices of the YSR Congress have already been shifted to Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy’s residence in Amaravati. He is confident that his party will win the Assembly elections. Exit polls of national agencies have also predicted YSRC victory in the Assembly elections.

The house warming of his new residence at Tadepally was conducted on March 27, but he continued to stay in Hyderabad. He and his party leaders were apprehensive about the AP Intelligence wing tapping into their deliberations and felt that his Hyderabad house was the safest place for him.

Now that he thinks that the TD government’s tenure will ended on May 23 and the whole administration will come under him, he has decided to move.

Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy’s mother and YSRC honorary president Y.S. Vijayamma and his sister Sharmila’s family live in Bangalore.

His second daughter Harsha Reddy is likely to shift to London for studies. She is studying in Hyderabad currently. His elder daughter Varsha Reddy is studying at London School of Economics. Students have to get 99 per cent to qualify for admission to this world renowned institution.
