Hyderabad: Congress Legislature Party leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka claimed on Sunday that following the victory of the Congress in Karnataka elections many leaders were keen to join the party but their names were kept secret as they could face political pressure from their respective parties. Anyone who believes in the philosophy of the Congress is welcome to join the party, the CLP leader said.

The people of Telangana state who fought for statehood are all set to teach the BRS a lesson for its policies inimical to the state, akin to the drubbing BJP faced in Karnataka due to its corrupt government, Bhatti remarked.

Charging Prime Minister Narendra Modi with taking whimsical decisions, the Congress leader asked, “Why were the Rs 2000 notes abolished? Why were they brought in the first place? The PM who said he would bring back black money and resorted to demonetisation has not made any announcement on it till date. The PM is aiding MNCs in creating economic chaos in the country by withdrawing these notes.”

Continuing his charge against the BRS government on the land issue, he said, “By introducing the Dharani portal and keeping the lands in Part B, the BRS leaders are resorting to land scams worth lakhs of crores. The numerous requisitions I received from the people from Adilabad to Jadcherla during my yatra are testimony to this fact.”

Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao is all set to even fund the electoral expenditure of opposition candidates with the money made from land grab, Bhatti said adding that the BRS rule has increased unemployment in the state.

BCs, who form 50 per cent of the population in Telangana are hardly getting six per cent of the funds from the budget and many of their traditional vocations are not receiving funds. DWACRA women are all set to defeat KCR. People are waiting to pack off  the BRS which is bringing back feudal system in the state, the senior leader said.

Lauding the CLP leader for completing 800-km of his yatra when temperatures are hovering around 44 degrees, former PCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said, “The yatra by Bhatti will help bring the Congress back to power as people are feeling cheated in the nine and half years of BRS rule.”

“People are joining the people’s march voluntarily,” said TPCC vice president Mallu Ravi adding, “Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot will take part in the meeting at Jadcherla which will be attended by lakhs of people.”

Manthani MLA Sridhar Babu said, “We will explain our agenda at the grassroots level and bring back days of yore for the party.”

The meeting was attended by IT cell chairman Madan Mohan Rao, Mahaboobnagar DCC president Madhusudhan Reddy, Gadwal DCC president Prabhakar Reddy among others.

The leaders earlier paid tributes to former PM Rajiv Gandhi on the occasion of his 32nd death anniversary.
