ADILABAD: BJP state president Bandi Sanjay said on Wednesday that some leaders are showing an interest to join the Congress party and they would be courting disaster for themselves.

“The Congress is a sinking boat and they will also drown with the boat,” he said in an obvious reference to Jupalli Krishnarao and Ponguleti Srinivas.

The BRS and Congress, he alleged, have an internal understanding. Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao is strengthening the Congress party to divide the anti-incumbency votes in the next elections, so as to weaken the BJP and win the assembly polls for another term in office.

“The people of Telangana don’t have faith in the Congress party,”  Bandi Sanjay said while addressing a meeting in Mancherial district. A bike rally was taken out by the BJP in Dandepalli and Luxettipet.

He said KCR was encouraging the Congress and investing money for its activities in the hope that the elected Congress candidates would join the BRS as in the past. Even a poll alliance between the BRS and Congress is likely against the BJP in TS, he said.

Bandi Sanjay said the central government has sanctioned 2.5 lakh houses under PM Awas Yojana to the state but not a single house was constructed by the KCR-led government. But, Prime Minister Modi funded the construction of three crore houses and also toilets to 10 crore poor families and given free LPG connections to 12 crore BPL families across the country, he said.

He urged the people to dial 9090902024 and give a Missed call to extend their support to Prime Minister Modi.

Bandi Sanjay said KCR cheated various sections of the people including farmers, government employees, youths, students and women and no section is happy in Telangana state.

“It was BJP that extended its support to the Telangana formation bill in Parliament and played a key role in the creation of Telangana state,” he claimed.

Former MP Gaddam Vivek and Mancherial district party president Raghunath Rao and senior leaders Ramesh Rathod, Payal Shankar, Ganga Reddy and others were present.
