Etala Calls for Regional Understanding of Decision-Making Process
Hyderabad: Senior BJP leader Etala Rajendar on Thursday said since the BJP is a national party, taking decisions by the leadership in Delhi might take some time. “People should realise that for a regional party, the decisions are taken at the local level and might seem to be taken quickly compared to those taken by a national party,” he told reporters in Huzurabad.
Rajendar, who has been in the news for some time reportedly seeking a better position and responsibility in the BJP, said, “I am not a person who gets into arguments or fights, I do not have groups or enemies. I work as per the responsibilities given to me. Do not go by some reports in a section of the media, or false information being spread by some who dislike me. The BJP is making me work, and I am doing what I am supposed to do.”
He said the BRS government was using the police to stifle Opposition voices by not allowing them to move freely among people, and not taking action when BRS leaders and workers were attacking them.
“If rowdy and anti-social behaviour of BRS leaders and workers and the police watching from the sidelines does not change, then KCR will be responsible if people act on their own to protect their freedom,” Rajendar warned.
Rajendar also challenged the Chief Minister to a debate in Huzurabad the Dalit Bandhu programme. “There are 17 lakh Dalit families in the constituency and most have not received anything under the scheme. BRS leaders themselves are admitting to this,” he said.
