Political parties are gearing up to seek disqualification of their turncoat MPs from the Lok Sabha this session.

Hyderabad: Congress, Telugu Desam and the YSR Congress are gearing up to seek disqualification of their turncoat MPs from the Lok Sabha this session.

YSRC Khammam MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, TD Malkajgiri MP Ch. Malla Reddy and Congress Nalgonda MP Gutta Sukhender Reddy had quit their respective parties and joined the TRS. Mr Srinivas Reddy joined the TRS on May 2, Mr Malla Reddy on June 1 and Mr Sukhender Reddy on June 15.

Interestingly, while the YSRC and TD MPs had openly joined the TRS in presence of Chief Minister and TRS president K.Chandrasekhar Rao, accepting pink khandwas and also given statements to the media, Mr Sukhender Reddy had been careful.

Though he was present at a function organised at the Telangana Bhavan to welcome him, Miryalguda Congress MLA N. Bhaskar CPI Deverkonda (ST) MLA Ravindra Kumar Ramavath, former Peddapally Congress MP G. Vivekanand, former minister G.  Vinod and Congress leader Juvvada Narsing Rao from Korutla into the TRS fold, he did not wear the pink khandwa to avoid evidence.

Sources said that Mr Chandrasekhar Rao and Mr Sukhender Reddy aren’t keen to face any byelection in Nalgonda, hence the precaution. It is learnt three parties are gathering evidence against the turncoat MPs.

“Congress high command has decided to seek disqualification of Sukhender Reddy in this Parliament session. We are collecting all direct and circumstantial evidence and will submit it to the high command soon,” Mohd. Ali Shabbir, leader of Opposition in TS Legislative Council, who is in New Delhi at present, told DC on Wednesday.

He added, “The party will petition the Lok Sabha Speaker seeking disqualification of Sukhender Reddy along with evidence.” Asked about Mr Sukhender Reddy not wearing the pink khandwa at the TRS function, the MLC said, “We have other evidence. We will present it to the high command.”

YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, it is learnt, is in hot pursuit to seek disqualification of the party’s three MLAs and one MP in TS.
