Cooperative tribunal stays removal of Jubilee Hills society secretary
Mukund came down heavily on the two warring groups in the society, headed by NTV founder T. Narendra Chowdary and TV5 chairman B.V. Naidu
Hyderabad: The State Cooperative Tribunal on Tuesday suspended the removal of A. Murali Mukund as Jubilee Hills Cooperative House Building Society secretary.
A three-member bench headed by P. Sri Sudha, chairperson, said the Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS) had gone ahead with voting on the no-confidence motion moved by the society managing committee despite Telangana High Court’s direction to give three days time to the secretary to explore legal options against the move.
The tribunal had also kept on hold its proceedings when it came to know of the High Court order but the RCS proceeded with the meeting, the tribunal said adding that the no-confidence motion was suspended till further orders.
The tribunal said though the division bench of Telangana High Court suspended a few orders issued by the single bench, the latter, when approached by the secretary against the no-confidence motion, granted three days time. The same was communicated to the RCS, the managing committee of the society as well as the cooperative tribunal, it pointed out.
Meanwhile, Mukund came down heavily on the two warring groups in the society, headed by NTV founder chairman T. Narendra Chowdary and TV5 chairman B.V. Naidu. “Both could manage win the society elections with the support of the Congress but switched loyalties to the TRS to cover up their corrupt practices and safeguard personal interests,” he alleged.
Mukund also accused Jubilee Hills MLA Maganti Gopinath of supporting society president Bollineni Ravindranath and pressurising the police to book cases against him. “Why is a TRS MLA supporting Congress sympathisers unless he got huge benefits,” Mukund asked.
Further, Mukund said: “The police have also been acting strangely. Earlier, they dropped a case against Narendra Chowdary, treating it as a civil matter, but registered an FIR against me at the behest of the local MLA.”
Mukund lamented that he was caught in the crossfire between the “two corrupt groups” which for their personal gains causing loss to the society.
Referring to society president Ravindranath’s allegation that he had misplaced files pertaining to the corrupt practices of the previous committee, Mukund said he had maintained utmost transparency and had placed all files before the committee.
“There is a procedure to bring the corruption, if any, by the previous committee to a logical conclusion by ordering for a thorough probe by the Vigilance and other agencies,” Mukund said adding that the new committee should not work with a sole purpose of targeting one individual.
