Regional Joint Secretary of VHP, Sharan Pumpwell, told reporters in Mangaluru that the Yatra will commence in Chitradurga, the land of heroic figures like Madakari Nayaka and Obavva. The yatra will then pass through Davangere, Shivamogga, Sagar, Sringeri, Balehonnuru, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Tumkur, Chikkaballapur, Doddaballapur, Bengaluru, Mandya, Mysuru, Kodagu, Sullia, Puttur, Mangaluru, before culminating in Udupi.
"In every district, thousands of enthusiastic youths will participate in public meetings as they pay tribute to the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country," Sharan said.
He spoke about the organization's commitment to strengthening the Bajarang Dal by establishing new units.
"Currently, there are over 2,000 units of Bajrang Dal in the state. Our objective is to establish new units in every district. By the next Janmastami, we aspire to have 5,000 units," he stated.
Sharan emphasized that the Ratha Yatra serves as a tribute to the courage, valor, and sacrifices exemplified by the forefathers.
"It seeks to rekindle their spirit, drawing inspiration from their lives, and pledging to devote oneself to the nation and Dharma. The Yatra's goals encompass enlightening society about the rich tapestry of Hindu history, culture, and traditions. It will also addresses the challenges posed by external influences and current political dynamics," he said.
Preservation of Hinduism's foundations, such as cows, temples, and places of worship, is also a key focus.
Sharan also underscored the Yatra's mission to liberate youth from addictions, instill patriotism, thwart phenomena like love jihad and conversions, and safeguard the sanctity of Hinduism.
