Edappadi K Palaniswami holds talks with industry captains

Chennai: As a prelude to the global investors meet and to know the popular demands from the industries based in Tamil Nadu, Chief minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Monday chaired an interactive session with business captains and industrialists at state secretariat.
Members representing the Confederation of Indian Industry put forth their views and pointed out that Tamil Nadu was lacking behind in showcasing its potential explaining that TN is already an advanced state with immense skilled labour and infrastructure.
Terming the meeting a productive event, M. Ponnuswami, vice-chairman, CII, Tamil Nadu State Council, said that one of the demand raised by the industrialists was to consider the approval of expansion plans under single window clearance system so that the approvals from directorate of town planning, Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority, Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board and Electricity board are not delayed for months.

"In less than a week we got an appointment and the chief minister heard us to improve the situation of Tamil Nadu industries," R. Dinesh, deputy chairman CII, Southern Region told reporters.
The industry delegation also comprised Venu Srinivasan of TVS Motor Company, Vinod Dasari, managing director and Ashok Leyland, K. M. Mammen, chairman, MRF Limited. Industries minister M. C. Sampath also took part in the meet.
