Telangana Congress plans bus yatra

He said the party's senior leaders will embark on a bus yatra starting from February.

Hyderabad: Expressing confidence that the Congress will almost sweep all Assembly seats on southern Telangana, TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said the Congress will bag at least 70 seats even if polls are held now.

Admitting TD leaders and workers from the Ibrahimpatnam constituency in Ranga Reddy district into the Congress on Monday, Mr Reddy said the party will win all the 14 Assembly segments in Ranga Reddy district alone.

Speaking to the media at the party headquarters, Mr Reddy said the Congress workers have been geared up to face elections in December this year as indications eminating from Delhi say so.

He said the party’s senior leaders will embark on a bus yatra starting from February. “The yatra will continue up to the commencement of Budget Session and will  resume after the Session. The bus yatra will cover three Assembly segments in a day and will cover the entire state.”

He said the bus yatra will be culminated into a massive public meeting against the TRS government failures on June 2, the formation day of Telangana. “AICC president Rahul Gandhi likely to participate in the public meeting,” the state Congress chief said.
