He always treated me like a child, says PM Modi remembers Swamiji
On Monday he had posted a series of tweets recalling his association with the seer.
Bengaluru: Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, whom many expected to visit Tumakuru to pay homage to departed seer Dr Shivakumar Swamiji, continued to praise the contributions of the Swamiji and said the latter was a true saint.
A day after he posted three tweets, Mr Modi while inaugurating the Dr Shivakumar Swamijiat Varanasi, lauded the contributions of the Swamiji. "I would like to express my condolences. In Siddaganga Matha, I got an opportunity to receive his blessings. Whenever I met him, he treated me like a child, he used to give me love and affection. His contribution to human development will always be remembered. I pay tribute to him again."
On Monday he had posted a series of tweets recalling his association with the seer. "I had the privilege to visit the Sree Siddaganga Matha and receive the blessings of His Holiness Dr Sivakumara Swamigalu. The wide range of community service initiatives being done there are outstanding and are of an unimaginably large scale."
In the three tweets he posted along with pictures of him with the Swamiji, the PM said, "Dr Shivakumara Swamigalu remained in the forefront in ensuring better healthcare and education facilities for the marginalised. He represents the best of our traditions of compassionate service, spirituality and protecting the rights of the underprivileged. He lived for the people, especially the poor and vulnerable. He devoted himself to alleviating ills like poverty, hunger and social injustice. Prayers and solidarity with his countless devotees spread all across the world."
