Kozhikode: Janadhipathya Rashtreeya Sabha (JRS) Chairperson C.K Janu said that she would file defamation against her mentor M. Geethanandan over his allegation that she had been getting BJP funds to split tribal people.

Speaking at a press conference she challenged Geethanandan to prove his allegation. “I am open to any kind of probe. Let Geethanandan prove his charge. I have been facing similar allegations since the start of my activist life. In the beginning, it was that I was getting foreign funds,” she said.

Adivasi Gothra Mahasabha (AGMS) leader Geethanandan had also demanded an inquiry into the income sources of Janu and JRS. Janu attributed Geethanandan's charges to her recent political shift.

Janu came down heavily on the CPM for practicing untouchability against Dalits. “Around 400 Pulaya families were facing untouchability during the ‘Thiruvayudham Ezhunellath’ ritual at a temple at Azheekal in Kannur. The CPM local committee is in charge of the temple,” she alleged.

JRS leader Thekkan Sunilkumar said that his organization would conduct a secretariat dharna against the caste discrimination on March 2. “There are numerous instances to expose the rigid caste face of left parties. No police action has been taken against the CPI leader in Pathanamthitta who used a caste slur against an MLA,” he pointed out.
