TD trying to ‘deceive’ BCs, ‘creating tensions through provocative statements: YSRC

VIJAYAWADA: Adviser to government on public affairs, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, has said TD chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu is “readying to deceive BC categories once again.” He also alleged that TD leaders created tension in Gannavaram by making provocative statements.

Ramakrishna Reddy alleged that TD misused power during Chandrababu Naidu’s rule of AP but, by contrast, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy protected law and order and maintained peace in the society.

Squarely blaming the TD for the Gannavaram flare-up, Ramakrishna Reddy said the police maintained restraint. But, a section of the media has been spreading venom and vitiating the atmosphere, he said while addressing the media here on Wednesday.

He lashed out at a section of media for publishing a “fake” news that TD spokesperson Pattabhiram was beaten up by the police in connection with the Gannavaram clashes. “The TD-friendly media has published old photos of the TD leader, which proved that the news being published by the yellow media is worse than explosives. It is for the people to judge the credibility of such media,” he said.

Ramakrishna Reddy said Pattabhiram had made derogatory comments against MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan and visited Gannavaram, leading to a clash. “Why can't police register cases against the TD leaders for their remarks and attacks on the police,” he questioned.

Recalling that the YSRC, while in the Opposition, had refrained from such activities and abided strictly by the law, several of its leaders had still been harassed by the police in those days.

Ramakrishna Reddy said that for the last two years, it has become a routine for the TD leaders to create unrest among the people. They started a game now, when CM Jagan gave prominence to BCs in the MLC ticket allocations, he said.

“It was Naidu’s craze for publicity that led to the deaths in Kandukur and Guntur. To prevent such incidents, the state government issued GO-1. Though the government suggested the opposition to organise public meetings on open grounds, Naidu was still bent on organising his meetings on roads and playing with the lives of people,” Ramakrishna Reddy said.
