N Rangasamy seeks divine blessings before poll decisions
According to party sources, Rangasamy will announce important resolutions regarding the election shortly after his pilgrimage'
Puducherry: Even as NR Congress is facing a tough time due to dissidence, its founder and Chief Minister N. Rangasamy left for Tirupati on Tuesday, apparently to seek Lord Venkateswara’s blessings before taking any important electoral decisions. He was accompanied by important party functionaries.
Earlier, the Chief Minister had visited Appa Paithiyam Swami in Salem and Azhukku Swami, guru of Appa Paithiyam Swami at Pollachi, to get their blessings ahead of the Assembly elections in the union territory. According to party sources, Rangasamy will announce important resolutions regarding the election shortly after his ‘pilgrimage’
He has been maintaining silence over the alliance talks so far. The sources said AINRC would go with AIADMK in the election, as preferred by a major section in the party and the alliance talks are in the final stages. However, the political situation shows that things would not be that easy for the Chief Minister this time. He made a spectacular electoral debut in 2011 Assembly election winning 15 seats, out of the total 30 seats, days after forming his party.
The government is facing serious allegations including back door appointments, non payment of salaries and non-fulfilment of promises given to people. Besides these, the resignations of important party functionaries has rattled AINRC to a great extent.
