Hyderabad: Top IPS officer Lakshminarayana to join politics

There are speculations that he might join a political party in Andhra Pradesh.

HYDERABAD: V.V. Lakshminarayana, a well-known IPS officer in the two Telugu states, who is serving as an additional DGP in Maharashtra, is seeking voluntary retirement from services. There are speculations that he might join a political party in Andhra Pradesh. 

Mr Lakshminarayana had earlier worked as the joint director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and handled high-profile cases in the united Andhra Pradesh. 

An Inspector General from the Maharashtra cadre of the 1990 batch of Indian Police Service, he is known for leading investigations like the OMC Scandal, Emaar Properties, Satyam Scandal and Jagan’s DA case.

Born and brought up in Srisailam in AP, Lakshimnarayana is also a motivational speaker who has made several impactful speeches.
