Rahul Gandhi's team seeks report on TPCC fight
AICC leaders Digvijay Singh and R.C. Kuntia were present when the unsavoury incident took place.
Hyderabad: The team working with AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi has sought a report from PCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Friday evening’s fight between senior Congress leaders Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy and Guduru Narayana Reddy in the Gandhi Bhavan in front of other leaders.
AICC leaders Digvijay Singh and R.C. Kuntia were present when the unsavoury incident took place. However, Mr Gandhi’s team has asked the PCC chief to submit a report on what happened.
Sources said AICC has decided to serve show cause notice to two leaders seeking their explanation. When contacted, Mr Rajagopal Reddy said he has not received any show cause notice from the AICC. He said that since everything happened in the presence of AICC leaders, there was nothing he could add to, in terms of an explanation. ‘After yesterday’s incident, I met Digvijay Singh and explained to him that there was a systematic plan hatched against me and my brother Venkata Reddy to malign us and asked him to take action against such persons and leaders,” Mr Rajagopal Reddy said.
In a related development, Mr Rajagopal Reddy said in Bhongir on Saturday: “I and my brother are ready to work under any PCC chief who can steer the party to power in the 2019 elections.”
