17th Lok Sabha results, Maharashtra: BJP-Sena win 3 seats, leading in 38 seats

In other 45 constituencies, BJP is leading in 21, Shiv Sena in 17, Congress in one seat and the NCP in four seats.

Mumbai: The BJP-Shiv Sena combine has won three out 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra as per the results announced by the Election Commission so far. The BJP has held on to Nandurbar and Mumbai North East whereas the Shiv Sena has retained Mumbai South Central.

Heena Gavit won from Nandurbar defeating K C Padvi of Congress by 95,629 votes. She polled 6,31,226 votes against 5,41,930 by Padvi.

Vanchit Bahujan Agadhi's (VBA) Sushil Anturlikar got 25,594 votes. Rahul Shewale of the Shiv Sena defeated Eknath Gaikwad of the Congress by 1,52,139 votes in Mumbai South Central. He polled 4,23,743 votes against 2,72,393 of Gaikwad.

VBA's Sanjay Bhosale polled 63,256 votes. In Mumbai North East, BJP's Manoj Kotak defeated NCP's Sanjay Dina Patil by 2,26,486 votes. He polled 5,13,579 votes while Patil bagged 2,87,555 and Nikharika Kondalay of VBA got 68,089 votes.

In other 45 constituencies, BJP is leading in 21, Shiv Sena in 17, Congress, AIMIM and NCP-backed independent in one seat seach and the NCP in four seats.
