Some leaders skip meet, nothing untoward, says BJP
HYDERABAD: The one-day BJP state executive meeting on Monday where the party discussed a month-long public outreach programme to mark nine years of Narendra Modi as Prime Minister, was skipped by some senior party leaders.
While their absence, in the backdrop of unhappiness over the state party leadership in some quarters of the BJP in Telangana state, was conspicuous, BJP state general secretary G. Premender Reddy said anyone who did not attend the state executive meeting, had taken prior permission for their absence. “There are no differences among the leaders and those who did not come informed in advance that they cannot do so. This is not an issue at all,” he told reporters.
Among those who did not make it to Monday’s party meeting were Nizamabad MP Arvind Dharmapuri, Dubbak MLA M. Raghunandan Rao, former MP and actor Vijayashanti, and former MLA Yennam Srinivas Reddy.
