Lucknow: The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), on Wednesday, suffered a body blow when its senior most OBC leader and also the leader of opposition in the state assembly, Swami Prasad Maurya, quit the party, accusing the BSP president Mayawati of ‘auctioning’ tickets for elections and betraying the ideology of Dalit ideologues.
He said that Ms Mayawati was no longer ‘Dalit ki beti’ but had become ‘Daulat ki beti’. He said that her passion for money was responsible for the BSP’s defeat in 2012 assembly polls and 2014 Lok Sabha polls because workers were been ignored.
