Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu sharply criticised YSRC chief Jagan Mohan Reddy’s negative comments about him saying that they were made to draw public attention and added that Reddy’s plan had backfired because he himself had a dubious character.

The Chief Minister was addressing a press conference at the Secretariat on Tuesday. He said that the state government has been providing online services to curb corruption with hundred per cent transparency. He said Pariskara Vedika that had started in April with the toll-free number 1100, was receiving good response.

The Chief Minister said that the real time governance would be shifted to the Secretariat by September 15. He said the call centre had a capacity to collect the opinion of 10 lakh people per day on various government welfare schemes and development programmes.

Mr Naidu said though the state government had brought reforms in sand policy for the benefit of the people and was providing sand free of cost, there were some unscrupulous people who were increasing the cost of sand. He warned that cases would be booked under PD Act against those who were smuggling sand. Mobile checking squads at interstate borders would be initiated. He said sand mining and transportation price will be displayed at every sand reach for the benefit of the people. The satisfaction level on new sand policy stands at 74 per cent, he said.

The CM added that the office recorded 89.4 per cent satisfaction level for action on belt shops. The CM sought the cooperation of the people to curb the menace of the belt shops and warned of serious action against those operating belt shops. The CM also hinted on using drones to curb the ganja cultivation and smuggling in the agency areas.
