Make KTPS workers artisans, says Revanth
HYDERABAD: TPCC Chief and MP A. Revanth Reddy today wrote to Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to consider appointing workers to perform duties during the sixth phase of works on Kothagudem Thermal Power Station (KTPS) as artisans in the department. In an open letter to the Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy alleged that the state government made appraisals for power supply in Telangana but the government forgot the promises made for workers in KTPS.
The TPCC chief reminded that the KTPS is under the control of the Telangana Power Generation Corporation.
“Hundreds of workers have performed duties between 2008 and 2013 during the sixth phase of works on the KTPS. The management promised that they would appoint workers as artisans in KTPS and TS TRANSCO chairman and managing mirector (CMD) Devulapalli Prabhakar Rao promised in writing to workers to appoint them as artisans in the company” Revanth Reddy said.
Even as the seventh phase of works are underway, the government has failed to appoint workers as artisans in the company. The Congress demanded the government to appoint workers as artisans immediately and fulfil the promises made earlier and provide employment safety and security for workers.
