Rahul Gandhi will become Congress President soon, says Mallikarjun Kharge
Mr Kharge also attacked the Election Commission alleging that it was dancing to the tunes of the Prime Minister.
Yadgir: Congress leader in the Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge said on Sunday that All India Congress Committee Vice-President Rahul Gandhi will soon become party president adding that the Congress will face all upcoming elections under his leadership.
Talking to mediapersons in Yadgir, the veteran Congress leader took potshots at Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying he was announcing many new schemes in Gujarat with an eye on the assembly elections as traders there had opposed GST.
Mr Kharge also attacked the Election Commission alleging that it was dancing to the tunes of the Prime Minister on the dates for elections to the Gujarat Assembly.
“But people will judge what is right and wrong,” Mr Kharge added. When asked about the delay in taking up work on a separate railway zone at Kalaburagi, the former railway minister said, “Despite my several pleas to the previous Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu, the Union government, is least concerned about development of the region and is delaying the work”.
