First state-level Disha panel meet held at Velagapudi

VISAKHAPATNAM: The state-level Disha Committee met for the first time at the Velagapudi Secretariat on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Budi Mutyala Naidu, who hold the panchayat raj and rural development portfolios.
Mutyala Naidu underlined that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is the chairman of the state-level Disha Committee. “I thank him for giving me the opportunity to chair this meeting and review the implementation of central schemes in the state,” the Deputy CM observed.
He underlined that the Disha committee has been set up to effectively monitor implementation of the development programmes at the village level. The committee will ensure that every penny of the government is properly spent.
Mutyala Naidu said the state-level Disha committee will meet once in six months. The meeting will discuss in detail implementation of the 38 central assistance programmes being implemented in the state.
