BJP Seeks CBI Probe on BRS Irregularities
HYDERABAD: BJP MLAs on Friday called on the state government to initiate a CBI inquiry into alleged irregularities committed by the BRS during their tenure in various state projects.
Addressing the media at the state BJP office in Nampally, legislators Payal Shankar (Adilabad), Dhanpal Suryanarayana Gupta (Nizamabad Urban) and Paidu Rakesh Reddy (Armoor) criticised the Congress for failing to release a White Paper on irrigation projects in the Assembly.
"We demand a CBI inquiry into the irregularities committed by the BRS government in numerous projects, including in irrigation. Why hasn't the Congress addressed the Kaleshwaram project, which saw huge investments by the BRS government," the BJP MLAs questioned.
They also criticised the government for granting more time to MIM MLAs to speak in the Assembly while allotting a nominal period for the BJP even though the party has a greater presence in the House.
