Hyderabad: At a pre-Budget meeting with the departments of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, and women and child welfare, finance minister T. Harish Rao on Sunday asked the heads of the departments to submit utilisation certificates in time to the Centre so that the state government would get additional funds under the SC and ST sub-plans.

He told the officials concerned that the state government will give a matching grant. He said it is the responsibility of the officers and ministers to ensure that the state should not lose out on funds from the Centre.

Women and child welfare minister Satyavathi Rathod requested the finance minister to place the bills for Kalyan Lakshmi and the scheme for clearance of milk and food bills for children in the green channel for quick clearance.

BC welfare minister G. Kamlakar requested Mr Harish Rao to allocate the funds to the department in proportion with the population of the community.
