MP Revanth Reddy’s ‘Patnam Gosa’ from today
Mr Revanth Reddy asked while the state government has claimed that its budget is of Rs 1.5 lakh crore.
HYDERABAD: Congress MP A. Revanth Reddy announced that he will launch a week-long ‘Patnam Gosa’ (Pain of City) padayatra on Monday to highlight the failure of TRS government in fulfilling its promise of distributing double bedroom houses in his Malkajgiri Lok Sabha segment.
Addressing a press conference on Sunday at his office in Malkajgiri, he accused the ruling TRS of washing its hands off from fulfilling its promises made under the Pattana Pragathi programme. To highlight the same, he will extensively tour his Malkajgiri parliamentary constituency from Monday to March 2 as part of his Pattana Gosa.
The MP maintained that 10 lakh people of his constituency, who are eligible for double bedroom houses, have been waiting since the last six years to get houses from the government. He pointed out that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had assured in the Assembly that 2BHK houses will be completed within a year and he will not ask for votes if this was not done.
Mr Revanth Reddy asked while the state government has claimed that its budget is of Rs 1.5 lakh crore, how is it unable to clear the pending bills of Rs 900 crore for the 2BHK scheme in Hyderabad. He accused ruling party leaders of taking commissions for allotting double bedroom houses to the poor.
The MP accused Union minister of state for home G. Kishan Reddy of not highlighting the misuse of funds given to the state government under the Prime Minister Awas Yojana. He said this was because of the tacit understanding between the ruling TRS and BJP.
On the “erra bus” comment of Mr Kishan Reddy — the minister had said villages were used to seeing red (mofussil) buses were now having trains due to the Centre — Mr Revanth Reddy said the Union minister lacked knowledge of Telangana under the Nizam having its own railway and bus services before the minister or his prime minister had been born.
