Congress reduced to ‘big regional party’, says KT Rama Rao

Hyderabad: TRS working president K.T. Rama launched an attack on the two major national parties on Saturday, describing the Congress as a “big regional party” and saying that “achhe din (good days)” would come only after Prime Minister Narendra Modi is defeated in the upcoming elections.
He was speaking at an event organised to welcome Congress leaders from Tandur, Parigi and Zaheerabad constituencies into the TRS. He used the occasion to reply to Chevella MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy who had said that development was possible only with national parties, and asked what the Congress and BJP achieved all these days.
He said both parties had not provided electricity and water to the people. Questioning whether the Congress was a national party, Mr Rama Rao said it was a big regional party while the TRS was a small regional party.
He said Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were winning in Uttar Pradesh due to the mercy of the SP and the BSP. If these both parties had fielded their candidates the Gandhis would have been defeated.
Mr Rama Rao said, “Funds will not come if we beg the Centre, Funds will come if we dominate. For this, the TRS has to win 16 Lok Sabha seats.”
He said Mr Modi became PM with the slogan of achhe din, but good days would come only after he was removed from the “PM gaddi”. He said TRS president and Chief Minister was trying to change the direction of the country and people should extend their support to him for this.
He said if the people thought it was enough to vote for the TRS in the Assembly poll and vote for another party in the Lok Sabha elections, it would be like tying a buffalo to one side of the plough and a bull to the other.
