TRS banks on KTR show in civic polls

At Chevella, T. Ranjit Reddy will be he TRS candidate against sitting MP Vishweshwar Reddy.

Hyderabad: TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao will concentrate on three important and high-visibility Lok Sabha constituencies for the April 11 elections —  Malkajgiri, Secunderabad and Chevella.

Mr Rama Rao is an old hand at dealing with the city. He secured a massive victory for the party in the GHMC elections, and won 14 of the 24 seats in the capital in the recent Assembly elections.

In Malkajgiri, minister Ch Mallareddy’s son-in-law Marri Rajeshwar Reddy has been fielded against Congress’ A. Revanth Reddy and BJP’s N. Ramachandra Rao. Mr Mallareddy had won from this constituency as a TD candidate defeating the TRS in 2014.

He joined the TRS later. In Secunderabad, the TRS has nominated minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav’s Sai Kiran Yadav. The seat was won by the BJP’s Bandaru Dattatreya who has been replaced by senior leader G. Kishan Reddy. The Congress has fielded former MP Anjan Kumar Yadav.

At Chevella, T. Ranjit Reddy will be he TRS candidate against sitting MP Vishweshwar Reddy.

TRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will start his election campaign from March 29. According the schedule released by the TRS, he will address two public meetings every day.

Mr Chandrasekhar Rao will address a public meeting on March 29 at Miryalaguda in Nalgonda Lok Sabha constituency.
