HYDERABAD: Ahead of the Osmania University Students JAC's call to unemployed youth to launch a protest in the varsity campus on Saturday, the Hyderabad police placed TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy under preventive house arrest on Friday.

He was one among several Opposition leaders asked to join by the JAC. In fact, Reddy had announced that he would participate in the protest.

In the early hours of Friday, hundreds of police personnel were deployed at Reddy’s residence in Jubilee Hills. They did not allow the Lok Sabha member to come out of his residence.

In a tweet, he demanded that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and IT minister K.T. Rama Rao join OU students to discuss the TSPSC question paper leak.

Meanwhile, police also took into custody E. Anil and S. Sudhir Reddy from Revanth Reddy's residence while another PCC leader Addanki Dayakar was under house arrest.
