Shah fears Karnataka would become ATM of Congress party
Amit Shah on Friday asked the voters of Karnataka not to elect the Congress party in the State
Bengaluru: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Union Minister for Home and Cooperation Amit Shah on Friday asked the voters of Karnataka not to elect the Congress party in the State which would turn out to be a ‘ATM’ for the party and also asked the voters of Karnataka not to elect half and incomplete government (coalition).
Shah wanted voters to elect a BJP government with full majority, addressing the gathering at a function to launch various developmental works near Devanahalli near Bengaluru.
Shah stated that the Congress party is in need of an ATM and the Congress is not in power in any of the States to fill-up its treasury and observed that the Congress party is on the verge of closure. The Congress party dreams of coming to power in Karnataka and has set its eyes on the State in the ensuing Assembly election.
He asked the gathering “You want a government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi or that of a government under Congress leader Rahul Gandhi?”
The Union Home Minister asked the gathering “Will you strengthen the hands of Modi and Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai?” and asked “Will you press the BJP button in the ensuing Assembly election?”
In his speech, a look back at the history of Congress party's rule, Shah said Congress party’s rule has been ‘corrupt’ and alleged that the party insulted dalits, tribals and other backward classes.
He accused that under Congress rule, anti-nationals thrived and referring to the rule of Congress part in Karnataka led by Siddaramaiah as Chief Minister where cases against PFI activists were withdrawn, Shah said Narendra Modi banned Popular Front of India (PFI) for its alleged links with terror outfits and to the gathering ‘Wasn’t a ban on PFI needed?” he questioned the gathering.
By banning PFI, Shah said, Narendra Modi has made entire south India ‘safe’ from terrorists and also the nation.
On the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Shah asked "Whether a Ram Temple in Ayodhya is needed or not?” and stated that Congress party kept the temple construction in waiting for years but Narendra Modi laid foundation for the Ram Temple construction and soon it will be ready.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa and others were present.
