VS-Pinarayi issue just media fancy: Vaikom Viswan
Coming down heavily on Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, he said the CM's latest statement denying anti-incumbency was curious.
Kottayam: LDF convener Vaikom Viswan on Saturday said the media was blowing up the VS-Pinarayi differences so as to ignore the concerns of the public.
He claimed there were no issues between the two, and some vested interests were behind the controversy.
“The party will face the assembly elections united," told reporters at Kottayam Press Club. He said the prohibition policy of the UDF government would lead to a "deliberate" liquor tragedy.
“The LDF’s policy is abstinence, not prohibition, whereas the UDF's will result in the occurrence of fake liquor tragedy,” he said.
He said BJP) should not expect to get a seat in Kerala and alleged a secret pact between the UDF and NDA in various parts of the state.
He said the public would sideline the attempts to communalise ‘Sree Narayaneeyars’.
Coming down heavily on Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, he said the CM's latest statement denying anti-incumbency was curious.
“Now going by his reactions, it seems he has the right to say any lies,” he said.
He said the LDF was trying to rebuild the state devastated by the UDF. He demanded that the state government should exert pressure on the centre to proclaim rubber as an agricultural product.
