Hyderabad: Slender win for 4 candidates
In Zaheerabad, the TRS’s B.B. Patil won by 6,229 votes or 0.60 per cent votes against the Congress’s E. Madan Mohan Rao.
Hyderabad: Four candidates won by slender margins, which were less than the number of Nota (none of the above) votes. In all these constituencies — Bhongir, Zaheerabad, Malkajgiri and Chevella — the margin of victory was less than one per cent of the votes polled.
In Bhongir, the Congress’ Komatireddy Venkata Reddy got 5,31,014 votes and won by 5,219 votes, or 0.43 per cent of the votes cast. While his TRS rival Dr Boora Narsaiah Goud got 5,26,751 votes, there were 11,988 (0.99 per cent) NOTA votes.
In Zaheerabad, the TRS’s B.B. Patil won by 6,229 votes or 0.60 per cent votes against the Congress’s E. Madan Mohan Rao. The constituency polled 10,43,843 votes and Mr Patil secured 4,34,066 votes. There were 11,138 (1.07 per cent ) Nota votes.
TPCC working president A. Revanth Reddy with 6,02,907 votes won from Malkajgiri by 10,919 votes, or 0.70 per cent. His TRS rival Marri Rajasekhar Reddy got 5,92,485 votes. The Jana Sena's B. Mahender Reddy got 28,413 votes and Nota, 17,867 or 1.14 per cent. The battle at Chevella lasted for a long time till the TRS’ Dr G. Ranjith Reddy with 4,99,716 votes was declared winner over Konda Vishweshwar Reddy. The difference was 0.76 per cent or 9,437 votes.
