HYDERABAD: Seeking one chance for the Congress to rule Telangana, and take it forward on the developmental path with its pro-people approach, TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy on Friday asked the people in Medchal to show their gratitude to AICC leader Sonia Gandhi for creating Telangana state by electing Congress to power in the ensuing Assembly elections.

Reddy attended many programmes while on a tour of Medchal-Malkajgiri district on Friday. He welcomed several BRS leaders, who joined the Congress party in Tumukunta, on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Reddy alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao had looted the state and was preparing the ground to come to power for a third consecutive time by luring voters with unprecedented sops. As people have lost trust in him, Chandrashekar Rao was encouraging his son K.T. Rama Rao to woo voters, Revanth Reddy, the Congress Lok Sabha member from Malkajgiri, said.

"If BRS comes to power again, its leaders will loot the state and give contracts to businessmen from Andhra Pradesh. Boss ek number and Beta dus number are cheating people," Reddy said.

Stating that the Chief Minister had humiliated family members of martyrs when the state observed ‘Martyrs Day’ on Thursday, the Congress leader wondered why Rao had not offered MLC positions to any family members of Telangana movement martyrs.

“Che Guevara, Nelson Mandela, Subash Chandra Bose, Chakali Ilamma, and Komaram Bheem were real fighters. Before 2001, the financial position of Rao's family was in near doldrums. Since floating TRS and after coming to power, his assets and properties have gone up phenomenally while in contrast family members of Komaram Bheem and Ilamma are sweating it out to survive,” Revanth Reddy said.
