Bengaluru: The BJP central leadership has reportedly relaxed its unwritten 75 year age limit for Lingayat strongman B.S. Yeddyurappa who could take oath as CM by the weekend.

The age limit will not apply to Mr Yeddyurappa who crossed 76 on February 27 , 2019 , as the central leadership had announced him as it's CM candidate in 2018 itself, said sources.  Moreover the central leadership has decided to ensure an 'honourable exit' for him by making him CM.

The top brass is  aware of the fact that antagonizing the Lingayat community strongman by not making him  CM could dent its poll prospects in future and so decided not to impose the age limit on him, sources maintained.

Meanwhile Mr Yeddyurappa said that he will meet the PM and party president Amit Shah in Delhi tomorrow. Party sources said the BJP parliamentary board will meet at Delhi on Wednesday.
