Granite industry asked to supply stones for schools under Naadu-Nedu programme

NELLORE: Prakasam district collector A.S. Dinesh Kumar advised the representatives of granite industry to supply galaxy granite under the Corporate Social Responsibility programme to give a facelift to the schools under the Naadu-Nedu programme.

He said that they would fix the rates shortly for the granite required for the schools.

He elicited information on the problems being faced by the granite industry during an interaction with their representatives at Ongole on Saturday.

The representatives explained their problems at length with respect to the excavation of granite, polishing, and export. After giving a patient hearing to their woes, the collector assured them of steps to resolve the issues.

He asked them to prepare an action plan which should be beneficial to the industry and the government at the state level.

The District Revenue Officer Puli Srinivasulu, Deputy Director of Mines Department Jagannadha Rao, representatives and owners of granite industries were present on the occasion.
