If the preparation of voters\' list pertaining to all the 3.5 lakh voters is completed early, the poll can be notified on November 7
Hyderabad: In response to the High Court direction on delaying elections to the Cooperative Electric Supply Society Ltd (CESS) at Sircilla, the Telangana government on Tuesday submitted its proposals to hold the elections to the court.
If the preparation of voters' list pertaining to all the 3.5 lakh voters is completed early, the poll can be notified on November 7 and the actual poll could be held on November 26, according to the state proposal. In case there is any delay in preparing the gigantic voters list for the biggest cooperative society in the state, then the poll could be notified on December 6 and held on December 28.
A bench comprising Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and Justice C.V. Bhaskar Reddy was hearing a petition filed by A. Kanakaiah, a member of the CESS, challenging the rule by the persons in charge forced on them, instead of conducting elections. The bench, on last occasion had cautioned that if the state government did not submit the election schedule, it would summon the concerned officials including the principal secretary of the cooperation department.
