Komatireddy Venkat Reddy asks farmers to join rally
He said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had not announce any measures for farmers at his recent meetings at Suryapet and Warangal.
Hyderabad: Congress Legislature Party (CLP) deputy leader Komatireddy Venkata Reddy on Monday took out an impressive rally in Nalgonda, ahead of the proposed Chalo Assembly on October 27, to demand compensation for farmers who lost their crops to rain and better prices for their produce.
Addressing a meeting of farmers that he had organised at the Nalgonda collectorate, he said the CLP meeting on Tuesday would ask farmers to take part in the Chalo Assembly.
He said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had not announce any measures for farmers at his recent meetings at Suryapet and Warangal. He said farmers had suffered losses due to damage caused by rain, and it was surprising that the government had not come out with any relief measures.
He blamed government for not providing remunerative prices for paddy, maize and cotton that had reached market yards, nor taken action against agents who were exploiting the farmers.
