Tamil Nadu CM promises to make Sivakasi a corporation

Rs 82.41 crore ring road work to commence soon.

Sivakasi: Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Monday the government would consider to make Sivakasi as corporation by including nine panchayat unions under its jurisdiction.

Announcing various schemes for the development of the Virudhunagar district during the MGR centenary celebration function held at Sivakasi, Palaniswami said that similarly the government would commence the work on  ring road around Sivakasi covering 33.46 km at a cost of Rs 82.41 crore.

The CM said that they would consider making Vatrat area as taluk and also construct railway overbridge in various areas inlcuding Rajapalayam, Thiruthangal, Sattur and Sivakasi. The CM has launched 146 schemes worth Rs 48.81 lakh and also laid foundation stone for six new schemes at a cost of Rs 13.38 crore.
