Flexis put up against KTR in Sircilla
KARIMNAGAR: IT minister KT Rama Rao received a shock on Sunday while he was busy campaigning for the by-poll in Munugode. News spread that some flexis have appeared in his Sircilla constituency in Rajanna Sircilla district, which were sharply critical of the minister.
The video and photos of the flexies were circulated on various social media platforms and these went viral in Karimnagar region.
Such flexies in the name of ‘Intermediate students of Yellareddypet mandal,’ were installed at various places in the mandal headquarters. One flexi with the title, ‘Vidyarthula Drohi KTR Maaku Vaddu’ (The betrayal of students by KTR. We do not need you). It said Rao, who is also working president of TRS, had deceived the students, promising them the establishment of a degree college in the mandal.
“Because of this offer, all the Intermediate students came on to the road. But, this benefited only his close associates running the private degree colleges. KTR is playing with the lives of students,” it read.
“Does KTR not like the poor students to study like his own family members? Does Bangaru Telangana mean keeping away the poor students from education,” so read a question to the minister.
In another flexi, the people of Munugode were told: “Dear Munugode people, KTR has spoiled the future of thousand students only for the sake of commissions that he is getting from the private degree college. We were fooled by believing in his promises, but you should not get fooled.”
Meanwhile, local TRS party leaders who learned about the flexis expressed anger and criticised the opposition party leaders, saying they backed the students for installation of the flexies against the IT minister and Sircilla MLA.
TRS leaders said that some opposition leaders are conspiring against KTR as they are “unable to tolerate the enormous development in the Sircilla constituency.”
