BJP a sunken ship in Karnataka, says MB Patil
Vijayapura: Large and Medium Industries Minister MB Patil has termed the BJP in Karnataka as a 'Sunken Ship,' stating that the party has no prospects of recovery in the state.
Speaking to reporters in Vijayapura on Tuesday, Patil remarked that the situation of BJP in Karnataka is pathetic.
"We often use the term 'Sinking Ship,' but in our state, the BJP is a 'Sunken Ship.' The party has no future," he said.
Patil also mentioned the internal feud within the BJP.
"We have witnessed instances like Chaitra Kundapur allegedly attempting to sell party tickets and engage in deceptive practices. The BJP has failed to appoint a leader of the opposition even several months after the elections. Perhaps Narendra Modi and Amit Shah were dissatisfied with the Karnataka leaders following the performance of the party in the assembly election, which is why neither appointment of the leader of the opposition nor the party president has been made. The BJP is a closed chapter in Karnataka and will not resurface in the future," Patil said.
Addressing queries about the impact of the BJP-JD(S) coalition on the Congress, Patil expressed confidence that it would not have any negative impact but rather stand to benefit.
"Previously, JD(S) was unofficially the B team of BJP. Now, it is officially aligned with the BJP. Whatever secular votes that remained with the JD(S) will now shift towards Congress. The BJP is already in a precarious situation in the state, and this coalition will further deteriorate their standing," he declared.
